Who Is On A Diet? I Am Not On A Diet, Are You?

Diet is a four letter word! Everyone knows the word, has heard the word, has hated the word for years. I am the number one hater of the word "Diet." I would be perfectly happy to never hear this word again. I would rather fall off a high cliff than to hear the word diet ever again!

All my life as a child, a teenager, and a young adult, I was thin. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted and I stayed thin. It is a rude awakening to reach your mid to late thirties and realize you are not as thin as you once were. What is even worse, you realize you have a spare tire and your clothes do not fit any more.

You go on a diet and you lose. You start eating and you gain. You diet and you lose. You eat and you gain. It is a vicious cycle. If you eat all the foods you have loved over the years, you gain weight. If you eat only the foods you should eat on a diet, you lose weight. So you realize, in order to stay thin you must stay away from your favorite foods. Now I ask you, who can do that for the rest of their life?

Over the years I have gained weight consistently. My blood pressure has gone up, my cholesterol is out of control, and I blamed it on any and everything, except eating what I wanted when I wanted. Per the doctor I had to change my ways, take control of my eating and lose weight!

I knew that meant I had to choose a "D-I-E-T." To help me choose a diet plan, I decided to choose 3 or 4 food plans, check them out, and choose one that I liked. Below are the ones I studied, the results of my studies, and the plan I chose.

*** NUMBER 1 (#1)

* "Eat Stop Eat"
Brad Pilon, Author, is a nutrition professional and athlete. After years of study, he composed this plan which he calls the "Anti-Diet." Per Brad the plan is easy and simple to follow. You do not have to eat any special foods, or avoid any foods. You simply eat one day and fast the next. There are no pills to swallow or laxatives to take. You will lose fat, not muscle. By eating one day and not eating the next day, Brad assures the reader that you speed up your metabolism and you lose weight faster. In addition, he offers an 8 week money back guarantee if you are unhappy with the book.

"Eat stop Eat" the "Anti-Diet", seems very easy to follow and about as simple as you can get.

*** NUMBER 2 (#2)

"The Day Off Diet"
This plan is different from other diet plans also. With this plan you eat for 6 days and then you get a day off. You do not have to eat any special foods, count calories, or go hungry. You eat the good fats, not the bad fats. You can eat in restaurants, but you will be educated as to what to order when you go out to eat. You decide how fast you want to lose weight. Foods are broken down into groups labeled "Green Light", "Yellow Light", and "Red Light." Foods in the "Green" group turn off your fat storing gene and you can eat all of them you want until you get full. The "Yellow Light" means to eat sparingly, and the "Red Light" means do not eat. On the 7th day and you get a day off, you can eat whatever you want. You will lose weight and this plan teaches you how to stay slim once you get there. You get a 60 day money back guarantee with this plan.

"The Day Off Diet" is unique and a little bit complicated. You have to keep the Green", "Yellow", and "Red" food lists with you or memorize them if you intend to lose fast.

*** NUMBER 3 (#3)
"The Every Other Day Diet"
When I saw the title of this plan, I thought it might be similar to "Eat Stop Eat." But when I started checking it out, I discovered you eat every day with this plan. One day you will eat easy to fix super healthy high protein foods. The next day you eat whatever you want. However, you cannot stuff yourself with unlimited quantities of junk food and lose weight. You must work with this system in order to get the greatest benefit so this means you must learn how and when to eat these foods. This plan has 3 different levels "The Primer", "The Lifestyle", or "The Extreme Plan". Each level has an easy to follow step by step system to help you reach your goals.

Plus, with this plan, you get one year support for a limited time. Each week you will be sent three recipes to ensure you always have a variety of meal choices! You will also be sent weekly motivational and encouragement emails. These bonuses will certainly help you keep your motivation to lose weight. You also get a 60 day money back guarantee.

"The Every Other Day Diet" has 3 levels and you must prepare the super healthy protein foods you eat on some days. You must do this to lose weight consistently.

There you have the three plans that appealed to me. They are each unique and all have a money back guarantee with ample time to try the diet and see if you would be happy with it.

I decided to go with "Eat Stop Eat" because to me it seems the most simple. I want a plan that requires no lists of foods to keep up with. Plus I want a plan without any levels or foods you must prepare. My diet must be simple, like me!
